KCU Young Library Policies and Procedures During Covid-19

This guide will help you determine how to access Young Library resources and assistance during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

OPTIONS FOR ACQUIRING RESOURCES

If you are concerned about using the library for long periods of time, we are happy to locate physical materials for you, check them out to you, and have them ready for you in a plastic bag to pick up quickly.  We are also happy to scan articles and email them to you.  You will need to use the following steps for this service:

For Books:

  1. Use the Online Catalog to locate the materials that you would like to check out.
  2. Copy and paste the title, author, and call number of the item/items that you would like to have into an email directed to library@kcu.edu.
  3. KCU students, faculty, and staff may check out up to 15 items at a time.
  4. Community patrons may check out up to 6 items at a time - no more than 2 DVDs.
  5. Include your name and ID number in your email so that the items can be checked out to you.
  6. An email will be sent to your KCU email when the items are ready for pickup.

For Articles or Book Pages that are not available electronically:

  1. Sometimes articles are located in our print journals that  you would like to use for an assignment or just read.  Most often this happens when you are using a database and it says "Check Young Library for holdings".
  2. Copy the entire entry and paste it into an email directed to library@kcu.edu.
  3. Be sure to use your KCU email to send us the request.  Once we receive it we will process it as quickly as possible.
  4. The entire article will be emailed directly to your KCU email.
