For Access to Online Resources for Kentucky Christian Faculty Students and Staff

Here are complete directions for setting up your library password and accessing the databases.

1. Email nenders@kcu.edu with your ID number.  You will be sent an email to set/reset your password. You can also stop by the library if you are on campus, but you will still need your ID number to set up your password.

2. Once you have an email in your KCU gmail account from Library Password management follow the directions below.  The subject will be "Request to Manage Library Password"

  • Click on the link in your email
  • On the change password screen:
  • Username is kc plus your ID number
  • Type in a password that you want to use- your choice.  It must be 9 characters or more with one nonalphabetic character.
  • Click on change password

You are now ready to access our electronic resources!

Directions for Creating a Saved List in the Catalog/Discovery System for Business Projects

You may discover that as you work on a group project that it would be beneficial for each of you to share your research.  You have two options to do this:

  • Create a Google folder in the shared drive and share it with your group
  • Or, use our Catalog/ Discovery system to save a list of articles and book titles and share the link with your group

Directions for Creating a Saved List in the Catalog/Discovery System for Business Projects

 

  1. Be sure you have created a library password for your library account.  If you have not done so, please contact nenders@kcu.edu and request that  your password setup link be activated.  Directions will be provided to you.
  2. Go to the library home page - https://www.kcu.edu/library
  3. Click on "Research" in the column on the left
  4. Click on "Catalogs" in the column on the left
  5. Click on "Online Catalog/ Discovery System" at the top of the page
  6.  Click on "Sign In" on the right at the top of the page on the red bar/banner
  7.  Click on "Advanced Search"
  8. Type in your topic in the top box
  9.  Use the column on your left to narrow down your topic.  We recommend that at the minimum you scroll down and limit your date range.
  10. Scroll through the list and select the titles that you would like to use.  We recommend that you look at the descriptions for information on content.
  11. To select a title, at the top of the entry look for the empty star next to the word "Save" on the right.  When you click on the star and it fills in, you have selected the item.  The item is now on a temporary list.
  12. When you have completed your selection of titles, look on the black bar immediately above your results list.  You should see the words "Saved Items" with a number in parentheses.  Click on this link.
  13. You will see a list of your items.
  14. Click on "Create List" at the top of your items.
  15. Name your file.
  16. Scroll down and toggle the button under "Privacy" so that it says "Shared".
  17. Click on "Save"
  18. Under your name on the red bar, click on the drop down menu for "My Account"
  19. Click on "Saved Lists"
  20. Click on the "Copy Link" button for your list
  21. Click on the "Copy Link" button for your list
  22. Share the link with your group
