The Appalachian region has a diversity of people, climate, and food, but what they all have in common is living in the Appalachian mountains. Click on the map to read more about this region and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
As you spend the week in the Appalachians, be sure to observe the adventure around you, including your family, friends, and neighbors. Visit with grandparents and older people in your community and see what they remember of the Appalachian region in the past.
