MERLOT

A program of the California State University System partnering with education institutions, professional societies, and industry. All materials are reviewed for suitability and many undergo more extensive peer review.

OER Commons

Digital public library and collaboration platform of ISKME (Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education). Platform contains records for work from numerous providers including several universities and the DPLA among many others.

Open Textbook Library

Supported by the Center for Open Education at the University of Minnesota and the Open Textbook Network, an alliance of higher education institutions.

Smithsonian Open Access

Provides free access to nearly three million 2D and 3D digital images from the Smithsonian's collection to download, share, and reuse. No permission required.

Free and customizable K-12 OER provided by the CK-12 Foundation, a California-based non-profit organization.

Curriki
Non-profit K-12 OER repository and tech platform. Lesson collections are often sponsored by large corporations (i.e. AT&T, Chevron, Huawei, Oracle). Includes some professional development resources.

Maryland state OER Commons hub featuring MSDE-Vetted Collections.

MIT OpenCoureWare Highlights for High School
Features MIT OpenCourseWare materials that are most useful for high school students and teachers.

New York: EngageNY
Creative Commons-licensed curricula in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Open-Up Resources
Contains middle school and high school math curricula and K-5 English language arts curricula. Many materials are licensed with a CC BY 4.0 license but not all, so pay special attention to licensing and how it applies to your intended use.

Utah: Utah Education Network Open Educational Resources
Open materials to support the Utah Core Standards, instruction, and teaching.

Washington: Washington OER Project
Washington state OER Commons hub. Contains courses and units developed by state grantees or collaborators and aligned to Washington K-12 Learning Standards.

American Institute of Mathematics Open Textbook Initiative
A listing of college-level mathematics textbooks approved by the American Institute of Mathematics Editorial Board according to evaluation criteria developed by AIM.

AMSER (Applied Math and Science Education Repository)
Portal to numerous free STEM resources supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Science Digital Library, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Internet Scout Research Group.

BCcampus OpenEd
Open textbook portal for post-secondary education hosted and supported by BCcampus, a higher education organization in British Columbia, Canada.

CCCOER

The Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) promotes the awareness and adoption of open educational policies, practices, and resources.  We believe that these practices will expand student access to education while supporting academic freedom and faculty choice of openly licensed curriculum materials

COERLL (Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning)
Repository for numerous free and open language teaching resources. COERLL at the University of Texas at Austin is one of 16 National Foreign Language Resource Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Its mission is to produce and disseminate OER as well as promote a culture of collaboration.

LibreTexts
An open textbook repository initiated at the University of California, Davis, providing open textbooks for a wide variety of academic subjects and disciplines.

Maryland: M.O.S.T. Commons
The Maryland Open Source Textbook Commons is built to facilitate OER discovery, collaboration, and contributions among college and university faculty and staff.

MIT OpenCourseWare Educator Portal
Helps education professionals navigate openly-licensed MIT teaching materials on MIT OpenCourseWare including assignments, lectures, exams, images, textbooks, and more by subject area.

MIT OpenCourseWare Online Textbooks
Index to the open textbooks in Massachusetts Institute of Technology OpenCourseWare. Some are open-licensed electronic versions of print books while others are self-published online books or course notes which are thorough enough to serve as an alternative to a textbook.
