Kentucky Christian University's Young Library Epic Fantasy Vacation

Visit the places where your favorite shows and movies were created.

The Journey Begins

Winter isn't just coming...it's here. Many of us are dreaming of warm sand and sunny skies. Those of you visiting this virtual vacation have other fantasy escapes in mind, this I know. Until the Winds of Time once again allow your Fellowship to travel where you please, align your House with ours as we travel across Panem and so many other places. Whether you desire to fly with dragons, learn magic, become a ruler, or simply survive overwhelming hordes of monsters and men alike, this is the right place for you.

Fantasy and sci-fi are driving forces in all realms of media. Many of the books we consume from childhood through adulthood take us to strange lands where the impossible is just a couple words and a few choices away. Our favorite books have shaped the movies we watch in theaters, and the shows we stream at home. Even during our daily commutes, we engage with fantasy in the form of audiobooks and podcasts.

Oscar Wilde, in The Portrait of Dorian Gray, ponders whether art is an imitation of life, or life of art. I like to believe that there is a constant exchange, a cyclic flow from reality to fiction. Once you journey through this virtual odyssey that blends fact and fiction, I think you'll agree.

We now set off to London, England. Here, we will visit a world that doesn't exist to us muggles except on page and film, yet somehow maintains a physical form that can be seen, felt, and heard - now grab your Firebolt and race off across the pond to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
