The Louvre in Paris, France is considered to be the largest museum in the world and is also the most-visited museum in the world. This art museum is home to some of the most famous works of Western art, one of which is the Mona Lisa. The museum opened on August 10, 1793. It now contains approximately 500,000 objects and displays and 35,000 works of art. The museum dedicates over 652,000 square feet to its collection. In 2023, it had 8.9 million visitors.
