Art in the style of Monet

Food

Monet was an avid gardener and his gardens at Giverny were a demonstration of that.  He not only grew many flowers and shrubs, but he also grew a large kitchen garden where herbs, fruits, and vegetables were grown and then used in meals for the family.  Monet also loved to entertain and it is believed that even though many of his guests were artists, they talked more about food than art! The cookbook above is available for you to look through and read on Openlibrary.org.  Just click on the image at the top of the page to go to this cookbook, sign in to your OpenLibrary account, and begin reading.  One of the recipes in the cookbook is "Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Horseradish Sauce".  Monet was a big fan of horseradish and loved horseradish based sauces.  His cook often made them for him.  Try the sauce with these fries (You can also buy a bag of sweet potato fries in the freezer section at your grocery store!) or try them with chicken or roast beef, which is probably how Monet ate this sauce.  A screenshot of this recipe is below.  It is on page 132 of this cookbook.
