Claude Debussy was a French classical composer that was one of the most influential composers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Like Seurat, Debussy was born in Paris. Also like Seurat, his talent was discovered at a very young age. He attended a famous music school in Paris in his teens and was a brilliant pianist. However, he liked composing, but his teachers did not care for his compositions because he did not follow the rules for composing. Because Debussy was learning and composing during the same time as Seurat was painting and developing pointillism, we have included a playlist, "The Best of Claude Debussy". Click on the link or on the image below to listen while you are drawing in pointillism!
