Welcome to Kentucky Christian University's new Library Catalog / Discovery system!
This catalog is referred to as a Discovery System. This means that you can type your search term into a search box. The Discovery system will search our catalog of books and ebooks. It will also search all of our subscription article databases, our subscription video database, and open source databases such as the Directory of Open Access Journals, all at the same time. This will be a time saver for you!
In essence this Discovery System will be similar to a Google Search. However, it will have tools to help you narrow your results. It will also provide you with tools to narrow your topic and ensure that your results are scholarly and peer-reviewed. It will be much more accurate than a Google Search and much more flexible.
Please work through this guide to help you set up any access needs and to make you familiar with this new system.
As always, the library staff is available to help you. Use the information in the box on your left to contact me. We can set up appointments for you, talk you through issues on the phone, or set up a Google Meeting to show you how to navigate to get the best results. If you call and you get the answering machine, please leave a message. We check our phones oftern and will respond to you as quickly as possible.
This system is also new to the library staff, so we will pass on new information to you through this guide as we encounter more information and ways to help you find the resources you need. Be sure to check back from time to time. We love to hear from you!
