Government Databases can be helpful in identifying Health needs and issues in your community. Government statistics are used as a standard. If you need demographic data, this is the place to locate it.
Data.gov
Data.gov - Data.gov contains data tools and resources that can be used to conduct research. These datasets are exhaustive in scope. Be patient with it and contact the library if you need any assistance.
Govinfo is part of the U.S. Government printing office. This is a good source for Federal laws. You can type a search term in the search box located in the center area of the screen. Laws pertaining to the topic will appear on your screen and can be sorted by relevance as well as date.
catalog.gpo.gov is located on the Govinfo page. by using the catalog you will also be able to locate government publications that may include statistics.
FCSM provides you with United States statistics. This is one of the best sites to use to find Health statistics on Kentucky and be able to compare those statistics to the United States.
Military and Government Collection is an EBSCO database. Great resource if you are looking on information on military veterans community services. It also has government documents available. Statistics will be harder to locate but since the platform is familiar you will be able to manipulate it easily.
USA.gov is another US government web site. It provides a great deal of information on different aspects of the United States. What makes it unique is that it lists where citizens can receive assistance.
Once you are on the opening page, scroll down to the lower half of the page and under the heading "U.S. Government Services and Information" look for the link that says "Health" and then click on it.
There is also a search box available at the top of the page to search within the entire site.
