Bamboo

Bamboo is synonymous with Asia and pandas! In Eastern Asia, countries such as China and Japan have parks and groves dedicated to this plant. Also, bamboo is NOT a tree - what?!?!

Spices Originating in India

In the 14th century, Asia was famous for its depth and breadth of spices. So much, in fact, that it was a large reason for much of the exploration we learn about in history - think Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus. Many of these famous spices originate in India and are pictured above.

Fun Facts: Herbs come from the leafy green part of plants (such as basil and bay leaves). Spices come from the other parts of a plant, such as the root, seed, stem, or fruit (ex: ginger, chili powder, cinnamon, cloves)
