It's a short drive from Lake Cumberland to Dale Hollow. Get up early, tear down camp, and get a move on!
Dale Hollow is a golfer's dream. In 2019, it was rated the #1 golf course in the state by Golf Advisor and #3 in the state by Kentucky Living.
If you didn't call ahead to set a tee time, best get there as early as possible.
Anyhow, head on over to the clubhouse, get parked, get your clubs and gear, then rent a cart. If you're curious about the prices, tee times, and other amenities, click here.
Now, let's see how the course plays...
If you can't swing a driver to save your life, and you make more contact with turf than ball in the fairway, try out some family-friendly mini-golf instead!
You've had your fun, and are probably starting to feel a bit hungry at this point. Drive that golf cart back to the clubhouse, then head over to the Island View Restaurant.
After you eat, loaf around for a half hour or so. You don't wanna cramp up with the afternoon activity!
We are going scuba diving, so find a local dive shop (there's some scattered around the surrounding area, but you may wanna rent gear ahead of your vacation).
Yes, you read that right. You can scuba dive at Dale Hollow Lake! It is Kentucky's oldest man-made lake.
Dale Hollow Lake is famous for having “the town that drowned” at the bottom. Willow Grove, as it was once known, is buried under hundreds of feet of water after the dam was made.
Let's explore it!
What a day! Pitch the tent, or settle into the camper now that you're done exploring what's above and below Dale Hollow.
If you're still feeling a bit restless, try out some of the games we suggested you pack, such as Hillbilly Golf (ladder golf for you proper folk) and Cornhole:
