Morning

This is it, savor all the memories you've made. This morning, you'll cook one last campfire breakfast (or just grab some granola bars and make some coffee if you're feeling tired), clean up, and tear down camp for the last time this vacation.

Once you're packed, jump in your vehicle and make the drive to Lake Barkley!

Located in the heart of the Land Between the Lakes, it is one of the world’s largest man-made lakes.

This is a popular tourist destination, with plenty of recreational activities to engage in, such as:

  • Golf
  • Hiking
  • Boating
  • Various other water sports

However, we're gonna do a few new things today!

But first, get checked in to your lodge and take a shower. You smell like you crawled out of a cave or something!

Day 7 - Choices

Feeling worn down? I'm not judging. It's been a fun week, but it's been hard on the legs and back, for sure.

You have a choice to make. Lake Barkley has a beautiful pool with a relaxing deck, and a fancy restaurant. You can take the day off and enjoy the entertainment featured in the left-hand menu as you sunbathe and sip some lemonade.

But, if you feel fresh and ready to go, keep scrolling down the page. You'll be good and tired by the end of the day, promise!

Day 7 - Trap Shooting

Trap Shooting

Biking not your thing? What about a little target practice? The moving kind!

If you know what a clay pigeon is already, chances are you're excited for this next offering.

Don't know what "trap shooting" or "clay pigeons" are? Watch the video below and see if this next activity is what you're looking for.

Day 7 - Lunch

Picnic by the Lake

Lunch is something we can all agree on today. If you haven't had a picnic yet, what a better time or place? If the weather's right, unfold a big cloth or blanket, stretch out, and enjoy some finger foods with one another.

Day 7 - R&R

R&R

Surely you know what R&R is. Rest and relaxation, of course!

The only physical activity you got left today is a little bit of swimming, if you like.

If not, how about some tabletop or video games in the game room! They got pool and ping-pong too.

Once you're hungry again, have a nice sit-down meal at the scenic Windows on the Water American Restaurant.

Round out your evening with a little more sunbathing, or settle down in your room and enjoy some of the entertainment featured on the left-hand side of this page.

End of Vacation

So long, til next time...

I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Like anything good, it's got to end some time. The great thing is, you know a little bit of what the Bluegrass state has to offer now. We barely scratched the surface together. Next time your boss gives you a few extra days off, re-visit your favorite park from this vacation, or discover a whole new one. There's a bunch out there, and they're not far away.

Instead of a goodbye, I'll leave you with this musical gift from Tom T. Hall:
