How to find permalinks for JSTOR ebooks in the library catalog

How to Find the Permalink for E-books available in the Young Library Catalog

FOR JSTOR Books

  • Go to the library web page (www.kcu.edu/library)
  • Click on “Research” in the column on the left
  • Click on “Catalogs” in the column on the left
  • Click on “Online Catalog / Discovery System” in the center column of the page
  • Sign In to the library catalog
    • Username is kc plus your ID number
    • Password is whatever you have created
    • Directions - https://kcu.libguides.com/CatalogDiscovery/Password
    • You cannot open an ebook in the catalog without your username and password.  If you are on campus, it will occassionally let you in, but if you or your students are working from home, you will need that username and password.
  • Search for the title in the catalog
  • Under the image of the book cover click on “View eBook”
  • JSTOR ebooks will open up to the cover.  You are looking for the link near the book cover that contains ‘stable’ in the URL

How to find Permalinks for EBSCO ebooks for OAR

FOR EBSCO Books

  • Go to the library web page (www.kcu.edu/library)
  • Click on “Research” in the column on the left
  • Click on “Catalogs” in the column on the left
  • Click on “Online Catalog / Discovery System” in the center column of the page
  • Sign In to the library catalog
    • Username is kc plus your ID number
    • Password is whatever you have created
    • Directions - https://kcu.libguides.com/CatalogDiscovery/Password
    • You cannot open an ebook in the catalog without your username and password.  If you are on campus, it will occassionally let you in, but if you or your students are working from home, you will need that username and password.
  • Search for the title in the catalog
  • Under the image of the book cover click on “View eBook”
  • EBSCO books will sometimes have a quick popup box, just click on “Allow”
  • You can use the Permalink feature below in the column on the right to get back to this screen.  Your students would then need to click on the PDF in the column on the left.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • If you would like your students to go directly to the book cover for an EBSCO book, then click on the PDF link in the column on the left
  • You  can then get the permalink for this book above the black line of the book cover
