  • Brief descriptions are provided for each below.

GOVERNMENT RESOURCES

Data.gov

Data.gov - Data.gov contains data tools and resources that can be used to conduct research.  These datasets are exhaustive in scope.  Be patient with it and contact the library if you need any assistance.

catalog.gpo.gov is located on the Govinfo page.  by using the catalog you will also be able to locate government publications that may include statistics.

FCSM (Federal Committed on Statistical Methodology)

FCSM provides you with United States statistics.  This is one of the best sites to use to find Health statistics on Kentucky and be able to compare those statistics to the United States.

  • When the screen opens, click on "Agencies" on the top right of the blue bar.
  • Look for the "National Center for Health Statistics" icon on the lower left of the screen (It will be the letters NCHS).
  • Click on "Data and Tools" on the second blue bar from the top
  • Under the heading Data visualizations click on "Stats of the States"

Military and Government Collection

Military and Government Collection is an EBSCO database.  Great resource if you are looking on information on military veterans community services.  It also has government documents available.  Statistics will be harder to locate but since the platform is familiar you will be able to manipulate it easily.

USA.gov

USA.gov is another US government web site.  It provides a great deal of information on different aspects of the United States.  What makes it unique is that it lists where citizens can receive assistance.

Once you are on the opening page, scroll down to the lower half of the page and under the heading "U.S. Government Services and Information" look for the link that says "Health" and then click on it.

There is also a search box available at the top of the page to search within the entire site.
