Recording with ZOOM

ZOOM is a conferencing tool that is easy to use.  It does allow you to record a meeting and share it with specific individuals.  ZOOM meetings also work well if you have participants with emails outside of your organization. To record a meeting, follow the step by step directions below.

 

Recording with ZOOM

A FREE version of ZOOM is available for everyone.

     1. The Host  will need a PC or Mac computer with camera and microphone in order to record the interview.  For computers go to Https://zoom.us/join.

     2. Participants can use computers, smartphones or tablets.  Download the App for phones and tablets.

     3. The Host will:

Click Sign in

You will see email and password boxes but under that you have the option to sign in with Google. Sign in with your Google account for ease of use.

      4. Choose Host a Meeting

      5. If you are hosting make sure you choose “With Video On”

           You can also “Schedule a Meeting” which will set a meeting time and give you   

           the info to send to your collaborators. The video below will show you how to do

      6. Send the invites to your collaborators and have them join the session.

      7. When you are ready to start the interview click on the record button on the lower middle   

          right side of the screen. Choose record to this computer. You can pause and stop the  

          recording at anytime.

      8. At the end there will be a short conversion process and the MP4 video (and and audio 

          only version)  will be saved to your Documents folder in a file named ZOOM.

       9. Upload the file to your Google Drive and share with collaborators/students.
