A virtual trip in the Great Lakes area where you go on virtual tours of lighthouses and museums, read fiction and non-fiction materials about the area, explore local area favorite recipes, and watch movies about lighthouses.

Day 4 - Lake Huron

 

We begin Day 4 at sunrise on Lake Huron!  Lake Huron has the largest shore line length of any of the Great Lakes if you include the shore lines of its 30,000 islands.  Let's take a look at some of the lighthouses along the Michigan coastline......

The Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Underwater Preserve is located in Lake Huron.  This Sanctuary protects an estimated 116 historically important shipwrecks.  View the video below to see 93 of them!
