Social Media Policy

TECHNOLOGY

Young Library has equipment available to aid patrons in transferring information electronically and completing projects.

 

VIDEO CAMERAS

Video cameras are available for use as needed for assignments. Reservations for use of a video camera may be made at the circulation desk or by telephone. All camcorders use SD cards to record. USB cords are available for checkout to download files. Patrons checking out camcorders will be held responsible for the cost of replacing any damaged or missing parts.

***Fines for the late return of camcorders will be charged at the rate of $5.00 per hour.

 

HEADPHONES

Headphones are available for checkout at the circulation desk. These are available for 4 hours and are for in-library use only. Students checking out headphones should be prepared to leave their Student ID card at the circulation desk until the headphones are returned. Patrons are encouraged to use headphones for any audio materials so that fellow patrons are not disturbed.

 

COPIER/PRINTER

A copier/printer is located outside of the electronic classroom for student and public use. It only produces black and white printouts. All copies are $0.10 per page. Patrons may pay with cash.

 

SCANNING

Scanning is available to all Young Library patrons. There is no charge for this service. Please ask for assistance at the Circulation desk.

 

DOWNLOADING VIDEOS

Downloading videos from SD cards to Google Drive is provided free of charge to any Young Library patron. To have a video downloaded, please ask for the video processing request form at the Circulation desk. You must leave the SD card with the form. Patrons should allow 48 hours for the video download to be completed.

 

COMPUTERS

The electronic classroom contains a total of 17 computers. These computers are for KCU student use only. Additionally, there are ten computers located directly outside of the electronic classroom. These computers are available for use by all Young Library patrons whenever the library is open.

 

ELLISON DIE CUT MACHINE

The Ellison die cut machine is located in Tech Services. Anyone wanting to cut out letters, shapes, etc. for projects is welcome to use this equipment. Access can be acquired by going to the circulation desk. Paper is available for sale.
